Start with the simplest tests

If the charger is not delivering power, the battery will act dead even when the laptop looks fine. Try a known-good charger and inspect the DC port for debris or looseness. Sometimes the issue is only a dirty or worn connector.

If the adapter appears healthy, check whether the LED light comes on and whether the plug sits firmly. A poor connection can look like a battery problem.

Then isolate the battery and board
