Normal fan noise is not the same as failing fan noise
Most laptops spin their fans when the CPU or GPU heats up. That is normal during gaming, video editing, or heavy multitasking. The key difference is whether the sound is smooth and controlled or rough, rattling, or constant even under low load.
If the fan starts making clicking, grinding, or scraping sounds, the bearings or the fan blade may be failing. This should not be ignored, because the fan may stop working entirely at any moment.
Check the airflow path
Dust inside the heatsink can cause the fan to work harder than it should. The same issue can appear if the vents are blocked or the laptop is used on soft surfaces.
Professional cleaning and fan inspection are the best choices if the noise is persistent. This reduces the chance of overheating and prevents a secondary system issue.
